IWU VB Zipline

Ziplining through tropical rainforest

Titan’s winter in Central America

Escaping the midwest weather in January was just one of the reasons for IWU VB to visit Costa Rica over Winter Break 2017. Discovering this remarkable country, playing some great volleyball and bringing the game to local girls with a community clinic were just a few of the others.

The team played two friendly games and also participated in a scrimmage / clinic with local youth players from the Pacific Coast area. The also honed their schools with a couple of practices with IWU staff – but the tour was more about exchange and sharing than a competitive environment for this successful D3 program.

Natural beauty of tropical Costa Rica

As with any trip to Costa Rica the real highlight was discovering the immense environmental diversity of the country. From Volcanic carters and hot springs, to tropical rainforest and idyllic beaches Costa Rica offers it all. The Titan’s took advantage of it in the best way – ziplining through the rainforest, white water rafting the Sabegre River, volunteering at the Hacienda Baru National Wildlife Refuge and simply relaxing on the beach.
